Days of Discovery: "The Untold Stories of the Civil War" Amelia Island Museum of History Jan. 30-31; Feb. 1, 4, 7 & 8 This program will highlight areas such as the rapid change in the culture of military medicine, the role Amelia Island played in the war, the black struggle for freedom, and the Union soldiers who returned here after the war. Participants will observe the beautiful architecture and unique character of Amelia Island. They will also have the opportunity to browse the Museum's exhibit and receive a complimentary pass to historic Fort Clinch State Park. "Golden Age on A Golden Isle and the Battles for Amelia" focus on our rich history. The program occurs during the weeks of February 10-15, March 2-7 and April 6-11. "Pirate Booty, Barrier Island, and Preserved Homes" concentrate on the natural wonders of the island. This program is offered February 24-29, March 9-14, and April 20-25. Antiques Show & Sale Atlantic Avenue Recreation Center February 15-17 The 31st annual Antiques Show and Sale to benefit the Amelia Island Restoration Foundation will be held on February 15, 16 and 17 at the Atlantic Avenue Recreation Center. Hours for the show are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Food will be available. All proceeds from the show will go to the Amelia Island Restoration Foundation, dedicated to the preservation and restoration of this historic island.
