Most visitors to the annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance know that they are privileged to view some of the rarest automoibiles in the county, if not the entire world. What they may not realize is that the automotive art being displayed in the large tent in the middle of the show field is just as rare.

The Automotive Fine Arts Society (AFAS) will make its only east coast appearance of the year at the 2007 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance March 9-11, 2007. The California-based artist society only has one other scheduled exhibition - at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August. AFAS is composed of a small group of painters and sculptors of automotive fine art who are automotive enthusiasts and who portray various aspects of the automobile in their fine art.
This group photo of the AFAS artists was taken at the March 9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, March 10 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. The AFAS tent on the show field will be open Sunday, March 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Society was formed in 1984 by a group of six artists. Since then, members have been added yearly, and the number of current members totals 32. The Society's first exhibit as a group was held at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in 1986 and has continued annually to the present.
