Four outstanding private estate homes will be available for public viewing during Amelia Island's annual Home & Garden Tour, to be held March 18 and 19, 2004 at Amelia Island Plantation.
Whether your choice of view is ocean, marsh or golf course, these homes, which have never been open to the public, have been built around these vistas. Each home was conceived to take advantage of Amelia Island's spectacular natural beauty by opening the home to the view. The homes feature covered porches, verandas, loggias, pool houses and patios, many with exterior kitchens.

The four homes are an eclectic mix in style. One home is a French countryside design embracing over 300 feet of a beautiful marsh view. There is a beach castle in the Savannah colonial style with an upper crow's nest, offering views of the entire island. Then there's a craftsman "cottage" home with a spectacular kitchen overlooking a golf course. Finally, there is a home labeled by the architect as Mediterranean Moorish which features eclectic artwork with marsh views as the backdrop.
Any one of these exquisite homes is worthy of a "showhouse" designation. As a group, they present a majestic look behind the private walls of Amelia Island's most exclusive homes, all being opened to the public to raise money for Micah's Place.
The tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, and Friday, March 19, 2004.
Tram service will be provided to each of the homes. Free parking is available at The Spa & Shops at Amelia Island Plantation.
Boutique shopping will be available, with the shop owners contributing 20% of sales to Micah's Place.
