Island's biggest springtime happenings.
The Bausch & Lomb Championships return to Amelia Island Plantation the week of
April 8-14. This tournament always features some of the biggest names in women's
professional tennis. Last year's champion, Amelie Mauresmo, is expected to return in 2002
to defend her title. Other past champions include Monica Seles, Lindsay Davenport, Mary

The first weekend in May brings the 39th annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival
to the streets of historic downtown Fernandina. This is one of the largest arts and crafts
