Summer Vacation

     Amelia Island is a perfect summertime destination for those who enjoy being outdoors. Beautiful beaches and cool ocean waters invite residents and visitors alike to swim, fish, surf, sail, kayak or just spend a relaxing day at the beach or on the water.

     For those of you who love history and architecture, take a self-guided walking or driving tour through Fernandina's 50-block Historic District. If you seek a blend of history and nature, spend a few hours at Fort Clinch State Park.

     Special events during the summer include the Second Annual Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival June 1-22; the Nassau Sport Fishing Association's Kingfish Tournament June 26-29; and the annual Fourth of July Celebration.
