Or, perhaps take a kayak or canoe trip through the Amelia River and its surrounding waterways. If you prefer to stay on land, Amelia has some of the finest golf and tennis facilities in the country. Also, be sure to visit  Fernandina's 50-block Historic District.

   Special events during the summer include the inaugural Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival June 2-15; the Nassau Sport Fishing Association's Kingfish Tournament June 28-30; and the Fourth of July celebration in downtown Fernandina Beach.
