THE AMELIA ISLAND CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE
March 19-21 at the Golf Club of Amelia Island

The lush green fairways of the Golf Club of Amelia Island will once again be the setting of one of the world's finest displays of classic automobiles as the Concours d'Elegance returns to Amelia Island for the fourth consecutive year.

The Concours d'Elegance features some of the rarest and finest automobiles in the world.

This year's event will honor Carroll Shelby and the cars of Shelby American.

The activities begin on Friday, March 19, with a road tour of Amelia Island. The next day features the Spirit of Life Golf Classic, the Amelia Island First Coast Classic Auction, the Ford Motor Company Reception of Champions and the Mercedes-Benz Gala Dinner. The 1999 Concours d'Elegance begins Sunday at 9 a.m. and continues until 5 p.m

The first Concours d'Elegance (parade of elegance) was held in France in the 1800s. Today, these prestigious events are held around the world in places such as London, Paris and Pebble Beach, California.

All proceeds from the Concours d'Elegance will benefit Hospice Northeast and the Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring.
