AMELIA ISLAND

A most beautiful creation
Of our great Master's hand.
Sea oats gently swaying on
The dunes of white sand.

Sunlight glistens brightly on
The white swells ever breaking.
They follow one after another
The scene is so breathtaking.

A summer day dawns with
The golden sun arising.
From the aqua-blue waters
Of the far eastern horizon.

If there are clouds up above
Before the sun breaks into view,
Their ruffled edges are bathed
In a bright and golden hue.

The tide is coming in,
Or it could be going out.
There is no way to stop it,
That's what it's all about.

The live oaks of Amelia
Are trees that are very old.
Their majestic beauty is
Something to behold.

North to St. Mary's inlet
South to Nassau Sound.
A greater variety of fishing
Is very hard to be found.

Loaded with our nation's history
And a pirate's lair renown.
Fort Clinch Park, Palace Saloon,
And the place they call Old Town.

From any direction taken,
There's plenty of memorabilia.
There are few spots on this planet,
As beauteous as Amelia.
