Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival

         The first weekend in May marks the return of the annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival to the streets of downtown Fernandina. Now in its 41st year, the Shrimp Festival is one of the largest arts and crafts events in the southeast. Hundreds of exhibitors will be displaying their paintings, pottery, jewelry, clothing, photography, antiques and more.
     The festival offers something for everyone, including an array of live entertainment on several stages, a Children's Fun Zone and lots of delicious local seafood.

     The fun begins on the evening of Thursday, April 29, with a parade down Centre Street; Friday is the annual Downtown Merchants Sidewalk Sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday are the main festival days, with displays, entertainment and food available all day long.
