The first weekend in May always signals the return of the annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival to the streets of downtown Fernandina. Now in its 39th year, the Shrimp Festival is one of the largest arts and crafts events in the southeast. Over 300 exhibitors will be on hand to display their paintings, pottery, jewelry, photography, clothing, antiques and more.

    The Shrimp Festival offers something for everyone, including live entertainment on several different stages, a Children's Fun Area and lots of delicious local seafood.
The weekend kicks off on Friday, May 3, with the Downtown Merchants Sidewalk Sale throughout the day, followed by the opening ceremonies, Invasion of Pirates and fireworks display on Friday evening.
