    There is now another gem in the already-impressive collection of golf courses in the Amelia
Island area.
    Scheduled to open this spring, the Golf Club at North Hampton offers a unique course layout
designed by one of the most famous names in golf - Arnold Palmer.

North Hampton was carved from one of the most dramatic natural landscapes in North Florida. Combining the unique natural characteristics of the terrain with man-made sand dunes, bridges and rolling elevations, Palmer has created a course that is both beautiful and challenging, and one that will appeal to golfers of every age and skill level.     "We designed the Golf Club at North Hampton to have the appearance and challenges of the links courses of Scotland and Ireland," says Palmer. "We constructed sand dunes and elevation changes up to 35 feet to create a course unique to the Southeast."     North Hampton offers six different sets of tees from which to play, ranging from a length of 7,171 yards for the back tees, to just 2,914 yards from the front set of tees specifically designed for young golfers starting to learn the game.     North Hampton is open to the public, with memberships available. Head Golf Professional Mark Tutor and the rest of the teaching staff offer a variety of instructional and recreational programs designed for adults and children alike.
