The Amelia Island Plantation is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. This world-class resort on the southern end of Amelia Island opened its doors in 1974 and helped usher in the booming tourism economy here. Amelia has been a popular vacation getaway for many years now, and the Amelia Island Plantation is a large reason for that.

Over the past three decades, the Plantation has garnered numerous awards and hosted thousands of visitors. The Plantation caters not only to adults, but is also a great place for the entire family to enjoy a fun and relaxing vacation. There are a multitude of activities for children and adults of all ages, including golf, tennis, nature trails, pristine beaches, and fine dining to Kid's Camp Amelia which allows mom and dad to explore Amelia while giving the kids a vast number of activities to choose from.


The Plantation offers 54 beautifully-manicured holes of golf, several of which are situated right on the ocean.

In addition to the ample golfing amenities, the Amelia Island Plantation boasts one of the most renowned tennis facilities in the world, Racquet Park. Every April, Racquet Park plays host to the Bausch and Lomb Championships, which attracts the top women tennis players in the world. Past champions include Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Steffi Graf, Gabriela Sabatini, Monica Seles and Lindsay Davenport.

Recently, the Plantation debuted the Spa and Shops at Amelia Island Plantation - an array of eateries, shops and boutiques. The latest project in the works is the new clubhouse at Walker's Landing, scheduled to open in the summer of next year.
