In addition to world-class performances, the Amelia
Island Jazz festival also focuses on music education. From November 11-14, DeMerle and
other musicians will visit local schools and conduct clinics for music students.
Sometimes, the education goes beyond the classroom, as was the case at last year's event,
where the audience was treated to an after-show "jam session" featuring local
music students playing alongside jazz legends.
