The debut of the first annual Amelia Island Jazz Festival is
sure to become a premier jazz event in North Florida.

Jazz drummer Les DeMerle will present world-class musicians
at the inaugural Amelia Island Jazz Festival.

Les DeMerle, world-renowned jazz musician and festival artistic
director, will present world-class jazz artists including saxophone star Richie Cole and
his Alto Madness Orchestra, and trumpet virtuoso Longineu Parsons playing a tribute to
Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong.
Also scheduled to perform are the Fernandina Beach High School Jazz Band
under the direction of Johnnie Robinson, and the Dynamic Les DeMerle Band featuring Bonnie
Eisele.
The festival will feature programs such as The History of Jazz, Jazz for
Kids and Jazz for America.
The concerts will be held on Friday and Saturday, November 16th and
17th, at the Fernandina Beach Middle School auditorium at 7 p.m. On Sunday, November 18th,
a Jazz and Ribs barbeque will be held at 3 p.m. Everyone is invited!
