Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance

For the 23nd year in a row, some of the finest automobiles in the world will come to Amelia Island for the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance.  Over 250 rare and vintage vehicles from all over the globe will be on display March 8-11 at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island and on the beautiful fairways of the Golf Club of Amelia Island.     Emerson Fittipaldi, double Formula 1 World Champion and two-time Indy 500 winner, will be the honoree of the 2018 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance.  Fittipaldi was victorious in just his fourth World Championship Formula 1 race, the 1970 U.S. Grand Prix at Watkins Glen.  Two years later, he became the youngest Formula 1 World Champion at just 25 - a record that stood for 33 years.    A highlight of the 2018 Amelia event will be the Jaguar XKE, the British icon that changed the world of sports cars forever. A full class of Jaguar XKEs will take to "The Amelia's" field nearly six decades after the XKE's glamorous public debut by Jaguar founder and Chairman Sir William Lyons at the Hotel du Parc des Eaux-Vives on Lake Geneva.     Also on display will be famous and rare prewar MG's, the fabled British marque that triggered America's postwar sports car boom. The sports cars from Morris Garages were founding members of postwar American sports car racing.    A special class of electric horseless carriages will be featured at the 2018 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, highlighting the renewed enthusiasm for the 120-year old technology.  The Amelia will also feature the newest electric and hybrid powered cars from the world's leading manufacturers plus a seminar entitled, "Watts Next?"     The main show day for the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance is Sunday, March 11. Other highlights of the weekend include The Porsche Driving Experience, RM Sotheby's auction, Eight Flags Road Tour, test drives with various manufacturers, book signings, Motor Expo, Cars & Coffee at the Concours, and the Mercedes-Benz Gala Dinner.     Please visit for ticket information and a complete schedule of events.
